School Tax Bills

2016 School Tax bills offer a three payment option for Homestead approved properties. There are no discounts on installment payments. The first payment made by August 31st declares the intent for installment payments. If the second or third payment is missed or late, the payment amount becomes due at penalty. All taxes must be paid by December 31st.

Your 2016 School Tax bill includes a tax reduction for your homestead approved property. As an eligible homestead property owner, you have received tax relief through a homestead exclusion $181.01 which has been provided under the Pennsylvania General Assembly designed to reduce your property taxes.

General Information

By law, all taxes and fees are the responsibility of the taxpayer.

The PA Local Tax Collection Law (72 P.S. 5511.7 Section 7) states: "Failure to receive a tax notice does not relieve any taxpayer from liability for prompt payment of taxes imposed by the taxing district, and such taxpayer shall be charged with the taxes as though he had received notice."

If you do not receive your bill within a reasonable time period after the billing dates, please call the proper tax office.

The Township Tax books close for collection of taxes by December 31st.
